WATCH THE SHORT FILM -
THE JOURNEY OF QALB AL-ARD
YEAR OLD
40.000.000
Introducing QALB AL-ARD - the Soul of the Earth.
A sanctuary of silence. A sculpture of time. A ritual of rebirth.

Forged by the Earth over 40 million years ago, this one-of-a-kind bathtub is crafted from a single monolithic slab of petrified wood - a material born during the Eocene epoch and preserved through millennia of geological alchemy. Each mineral vein and fossilized ring tells a story written by volcanoes, forests, and ancient rains.

More than a bathtub, this is an artifact of power and origin.
Its intricate grain patterns are not just beautiful - they are the fingerprints of time itself. Rich amber and volcanic tones echo the primal heart of nature, while the refined silhouette, carved by master artisans, embodies modern sophistication and timeless design.

To bathe in this vessel is to enter communion with the Earth’s memory - to cleanse not only the body, but the spirit. It is a personal ritual in a place of power, designed for those who seek beauty with meaning, and objects that transcend luxury to become legacy.

QALB AL-ARD by Alex Vimana, Relictium Studio
A sacred union of nature, history, and human mastery.

ESSENCE
THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD

More than an object - a space for silence and presence. Polished by time, shaped by human hands, created for stillness.

Here, form follows a quiet purpose. Each curve and surface invites calm, reflection, and the simple act of being.
QALB-AL-ARD
Heart of the Earth
It is a calling. A ritual. A heritage.
True luxury is not created – it is discovered. It lives in stone, in wood, in the silent proportion of a form that holds meaning.
What I create It is a place of silence, strength and presence. It is a return to origin.

SOLID PETRIFIED WOOD
Petrified wood is one of nature’s most remarkable transformations — a silent record of time itself.
It begins when ancient trees are buried beneath layers of sediment, protected from decay by the absence of oxygen.
Over millions of years, mineral-rich waters flow through the wood’s structure, replacing its organic fibers with quartz, calcite, pyrite, or even opal.

This slow metamorphosis preserves every detail - the texture of the bark, the grain of the wood, even the microscopic patterns of its cells - turning once-living matter into stone.

The age of petrified wood varies from twenty to nearly seven hundred million years, capturing within each fragment a moment of Earth’s deep history.

HOW TIME TURNS WOOD TO STONE

It is difficult to fully grasp the quiet significance of this material.
What lies before us is not a crafted object alone, but a fragment of prehistory - a trace of the Earth itself.
We spent months searching, excavating, and shaping a single piece of petrified wood. Yet, most of the work had already been done - not by us, but by time.
Over millions of years, the log rested within the ground, passing through ages of transformation, absorbing the silent record of everything the planet has endured.

The quantity of such material is finite. Each fragment that reaches the surface is one of the last witnesses of the Earth’s ancient processes.
To encounter it is to stand before a moment where geology and human hands briefly meet.

THE UNIQUE PIECE

This bathtub is carved from a single piece of petrified wood formed more than forty million years ago.
It carries within it the memory of forests long vanished and the slow transformation of matter into stone.

Its form was shaped by hand, not to impress, but to reveal what time had already created - the quiet dialogue between water and earth, touch and stillness.

ABUNDANCE ITSELF

Each piece of petrified wood is finite, found only where the Earth has preserved its own history.
Working with it requires precision and respect - every cut follows the lines left by nature itself.

Qalb Al-Ard is not a design object in the usual sense.
It is a meeting point between geology and human craftsmanship - a fragment of the planet’s deep past, brought gently into the present.

A Rare 17-Ton Discovery
It took us eight months to find a suitable log — the most challenging stage of the entire journey.
The original piece weighed 17 tons.
What made this step so difficult is that most petrified logs tend to crack or split due to millions of years of tectonic movement.
Finding one intact was a rare and extraordinary event.
First Encounter
This moment captures the first time Alex Vimana stood beside the raw form of what would become the Qalb Al-Ard bath.
It was the beginning of a dialogue with a material that had existed for more than forty million years.
Touching the surface for the first time, he felt the quiet energy stored within the stone — the trace of forests, time, and transformation.
From that encounter, the vision of turning a fragment of the Earth into a contemplative sculpture began to take shape.
